I have a 95 maxima and when I first crank it up The exhuast smells like crap. My dad says that its unburned fuel. Anyone have any idea what it is and how to get rid of it???

 

Exhaust leak, if you can actually smell the fuel.

 

It doesnt smell like gas i cant really describe what it smells like , It just smells really bad.

 

theres smoke coming out of the muffler that smells and it goes away once i start to drive it.

 

maybe a small animal crawled in and died in your muffler haha

 

Your cold engine requires a rich fuel mixture to run correctly. The by-product of combustion is moisture which is seen as light white smoke as the warm moisture rich exhaust gas exits your tail pipe.

Perfectly normal.
