Timing Chain Tensior ?
Timing Chain Tensior ?
Anyone replace their timing chain tensior only and not the guide?
Did the old guide line up straight with the new tensior?
I did mine and its on a slant like this this sort of ( > )
Any ideas?

I changed my Timing chain tensioner yesterday while I was doing my water pump.
That thing is a B*tch to pull out and an even bigger b*tch putting back in. It took me two hours just to get the bolts of the tensioner back in place. My hands are wasted. My fingers look like they have suffered burns or something.
As for it lining up, mine did just fine. You have to create enough slack in that area by turning the crank shaft or else you will NEVER be able to replace the tensioner. It's impossible.
Whatever you do, do NOT drop anything down into the timing chain cover like I did.
