Does bad alternator make sqeaking start-up noise??

When I start my car it makes a loud squeeling noise. My belts are tensioned right, my starter is fairly new, so could the alternator be a problem, because thats where it sound like its coming from.

It could be but alternators usually whine if anything

Put something long & hard on it like a hammer and put your ear on it, youll hear where its coming from
