Altered exhaust???

I just got stopped by a MA Staty for having an altered exhaust and gave me a $80 citation. My Greddy SPII isn't even loud... If anything i would get a noise pollution citation which is only like $25, but $80... I'm Mad

Fight it!!! Determine what the rules are. Thats one reason I want the Maganflow, it has stock-looking tail pipes.

Here in Maryland, their trying to get laws to prohibit any modifications to your car that would increase HP due to the rash oh teen deaths due to drunk driving, speed, and racing. Im in the Montgomery County Youth Advisory Committee and had a chance to talk to a police officer and he said some of the first laws would ban intakes and exausts that excede the stock diameters, but ultimatly anything that increases HP (turbos, scs). Seems sorta dumb since the performance gains from exausts and intakes alone dont seem that great anyways (most people just strap on a huge *** muffler on a pos civic which only makes it loud and annoying) and the deaths can be mostly attributed to alcohol and inexperience. I personally find it agravating that they are punishing everyone for the bad decisions of a few.

I quess I won't be going to MA. I just had the greddy and the racing pulley installed in Maryland 2 weeks ago. I already have the Injen in the car for a while and have had no problems with the police in New York. Check out my site www.cardomain.com/id/ramberg Later Warren

I thougth all Greddy exhausts are legal?
read the manual that came with your exhaust. check with your local
law. did he even measure the decibel level of your exhaust?

I heard many cops just write tickets if you have aftermarket exhaust
even tho it's not loud enough.
