Anyway, I would like to ask if the 95-96 and 97-99 trunk lid and tailights (outside piece) are interchangeable. Is the conversion of the tail doable if I have those parts? Thanks.

i think the tailights on the 97-99 are bigger outward then the 95-96

 

I don't remember well, but someone on this board had installed a set of 95-96 clear tails on his 97 Maxima. Can anyone confirm this?

My main concern is on the trunk. Since Nissan redesigned the rear bumper at 97, I am wondering if they changed the dimensions and the fitment of the trunk lid?

 

the outter for all 4th gen max are interchangable....but the 97-99 inner taillights are a bit larger....so to do a conversion u would need the trunk and taillight from the 97-99....not so sure bout the trunk and taillight but i know for sure the outter taillights are interchangable within the 4th gen....dont forget the 95-96 has a crest on the taillight....

 

I have a 96 Max. I shaved my entire trunk. The labels, lock, lights, everything. Then I bought a pair of those 97-99 red/clear outers from Greg. The lights were awesome, Greg did a great job on them. But they looked aweful on the car. They stuck out on the edges, they didn't fight right near the bumer.

The bolt patter is the same, but they look aweful.
I would suggest staying with what you have.
