Zaino'ed 4th gen

I didn't have to work today and it was nice enough that I decided to wash and Zaino my car. First, I washed the car with Dawn soap so it would strip any remnants of pre-winter wax. Then, I washed her again with Z7 and dried with a microfiber towel. The Zaino application was easy with three coats of Z5 and a coat of Z2. When I removed each layer of Zaino, I spritzed her with Z6. All in all, it took me four hours but she's gorgeous! The wheels will be coming off in a month or so and I'll be putting my SSRs back on.

looks good. i used to do the same zaino treatment as you are doing until i discovered meguairs nxt wax. one coat of that stuff looks equally as good as meguairs and takes a hell of lot less time. not to mention the meguairs is a lot cheaper. but nontheless, great job.

Are those scratches on the tops of the wheel wells on the front left and right rear or just reflections?

Shine looks pretty good!

I have used NXT and just this weekend tried Zaino. I washed with Dawn, did the California Water Blade follwoed by a quick dry with a WWMF. Then I only did one coat of Z2 followed by a quick spritz and wipe down with Z6 and Zaino beats NXT hands down in my opinion, at least on my '05 Smoke.

Zaino products are overrated IMO, Klasse does a better job with considerably less effort. Pretty much, they are the bottom of the upper end product line simply due to the effort vs outcome.

I have yet to use Klasse. When I run out of Zaino, I'll probably give it a go. Zaino isn't cheap but it sure beats any wax/polish I've used to date IMO. That and Zaino requires zero effort to put on and take off whereas wax can be a PITA if you put too much on.

Zaino takes too much time to cure, and even with numerous coats still doesnt look as good as say klasse with a topcoat of s-100 (which takes 30 min for the klasse to cure versus an hour in between each zaino step, then about 15 min to apply and remove the s-100). If you think zaino looks better than any wax you've used, you might be using the wrong waxes/polishes.

If you really want the car to look perfect: einszett paint polish, then metallic polishwax, Klasse SG, then a topcoat of s-100 carnuba wax. The combination of the sealant under the carnuba topcoat not only looks amazingly deep, but will last a while too.

E55, my esteemed colleague, that may be true. But if ZFX is mixed in there, the cure time is the same as Klasse.

Zaino takes too much time? What's the world coming to? I can TOTALLY detail my car with Zaino in 4 hours and it lasts up to 4 months. I'm sure there are several products on the market that do a great job, but once your comfort/experience level is up with Zaino, it's a piece of cake. The ZFX has made all the difference IMO.

Either way, it's not worth fighting about. There are several quality products on the market now, and our cars will look better because of them.

Phase 2 does as much or better than zaino and takes 45 minutes in total...
