how often has there been problems with our....

cars having a bad ecu. I am not getting a code. I did all the usual maintenance, both primary o2s, spark plugs, fuel filter, cam angle sensor and checked for continuity from each coil plug to the plug at the ecu and all came out ok. I am not getting a spark on 3 or 4 of my cylinders and I used a "known" good coil pack to check for spark on each cylinder and did not get spark on a 3 of them. Does the activation relays on the ecu board go bad in our cars?
