Can you lock the car without the beep?

I have a 2k3 and wondered if the alarm has to always beep back at you when locking doors?

Hold down both buttons for a few seconds and it should turn the beep off

The process to disable the "beep" is listed in the owner's manual, but I believe Max51 is correct.

Directions for putting it in "silent mode" is on the back of the remote on 2001s. Like Max51 Said, just hold down both buttons for a few seconds, your lights will flash, and you're in silent mode.
