removing "carbon fiber wanna be dash kit"???

K, I have been working on this a little at a time for about 2 years now. When I bought the car the guy before had installed one of those cheap "AutoZone" carbon fiber looking dash kits (dash, ashtray, doors etc.). Not that I don't like that sort of thing (I am more partial to plain and simple actually) but it was all faded and cracking so it looked like ****.

I got it off of the center console and all without scratching the black "rubberized" coating on all the plastic. Well now I can't seem to get it off of the ashtray cover and the window control covers without breaking something.

Anyone had any experience with getting this "crap" off with a minimal amount of damage?
thanks

no problem, see if you could get some bug and tar remover or goo gone to take off the extra sticky stuff that doesnt want to come off as well

Heat gun will probably work for you. WD-40 is good to remove adhesive too.
