what mods would u still do and what mods would you have not done..... such as muffelor vs. catback...... injen vs place racing intakes .. generics or authentics... dash kits, turbos, anything... just wondering what mods are really worth it

have done much but if I could do it over. I would have told the dealerhsip to look at my tranny too, then they would have changed that out and saved me $1.7K out of my damn pocket.


then I would have done CC,S-tech,Grill,Guage Leds,2K1 anniversary shift ****, and SP2.



instead of used tranny, new clutch,Gen1:tezzies,CC,need new tranny again, need new clutch again, CF hood (on the way).

 

i probably would have got a faster car....i love my max, and im stuck with it for another couple years, but it really is just too slow.

 

I would have gotten an audi a4 quatto 5spd, and a turbo upgrade.

Luckfully, I will be getting that in 2 years now.

I love the max.

done the same thing but would have bought a 5 speed, and would have done skyline headlights, or silvia headlights and skyline taillights and suicide doors before I painted my car.

 

I woulda held out for a rwd manual tranny v6 sedan. I was already driving a modded 3rd gen SE 5sp.

If I had $ to spend, I woulda went with struts and rsb, instead of struts and springs. Everything else I woulda done the same.

Making do with what I have for now.

I actually don't regret any of my mods. I'm happy with everything I have, except now, I've gotta get new cefiro's, and retrofit some projectors in them since my old cefiro's are smashed to bits.

 

Now that I think about it if I had done it over again I might have ended up with the S13 or a S14, and we know mods are cheaper for those cars so I would be RWD and smoking most of you guys







but I love my Max and wouldnt trade.

are you thinking about getting that because of speed? cause they are not that fast. i have a friend that has an a4 quattro chipped, test pipe, catback exhaust, intercooler, injectors, intake and with all that, he is finally as fast as my max. but with the turbo upgrade, it will be faster, but not as fast as a supercharged maxima. =)

oh and as of the mods i would have done, is gotten the Tein Coilovers from the start instead of wasting my money on shocks and different springs i have gone through. and i guess thats about it.

I'm sure if you wanted another car, you could trade your maxima or get a different one. Got a strut bar off ebay that wouldnt fit together and never got my money back! With weapon R intake and budget B & Y pipe it sounds nice with stock muffler.

would've gotten a 98 SE 5spd sterling mist with black leather. spent all the money I spent on little lights and things around the car towards HID's, had the dealership do a full tuneup and new hoodshocks. bah.. i just want the 5spd and anything BUT sawblades.

as far as mods well i am lucky enough to start over again with a car i have knowledge in....so this time i am going to make my own exhaust.....tein basic series coilover system....no CAI or RAM AIR just cone filter....strut brace....new y-pipe then hopefully in the future a lil FI...and a 5th gen VI

A cheap turbo upgrade runs 13's flat show me a time slip/ video of maxima that does that without N20.

Last time I checked Hal's was the fastest turbo max out there (props to Hal) .. oh wait that was with n2o and turbo...

Show me a superchagered maxima that does 11.8 ....

Overall, Maxima is great and I'm happy with it.
