Have a '98 GLE with the two stage white paint. I have yet to be able to clean my bumpers to look brand new and have had the car since August of '99. Can anybody suggest a cleaner or method to do so.

What do you mean clean the bumpers? What are you trying to get off? If your talking about the bugs, get some of that stuff that gets bugs and tar off, I don't remember what its called but you can get it at any auto parts store. Also get the armer all car wash it works really good. hope this helps

first off, what i use is a regular kitchen sponge with the scrubber part on one side, just make sure its not heavy duty..if you get the normal duty one, it wont mess up your paint (doesnt even leave swirl marks) and it does an excellent job of gettin off bugs, tar etc. Second, i've heard of using a thing called a clay bar and supposedly they work really good too, hope this helps..make sure to wax after u use the scrubber thing

Clay Bars

New convert here. I used the Zaino system and the clay bar made the paint silky smooth. Got all the schmutz off the bumper.

Other people make the clay bars as well, Mother's, Griot etc.

Good luck!
