Need Advice on Washing/Waxing car.

As stupid as this sounds, can someone give me directions on how to correctly wash a car? What products to buy? Claying before waxing? I dunno. I just wanna get the swirls off my car and make it look professionally clean. I just moved into a new house with my first garage =) and I want to do it right. Thanks.

Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo
Stoner's Invisible Glass
Bug and Tar Remover
Clay Magic Clay Bar Kit
A good Polymer System (Wolfgang, Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire)

I always wash it from top to bottom starting with the roof finishing with the wheels. I also change the water in the buckets 1/2 way threw.

It seals in whatever polishes/waxes you have on the car and makes the paint work you did last longer. Most polymers let you go without rewaxing for 6 months.

It's another bottle of stuff. For instance, Klasse has two bottles (Klasse All In One Polish and Klasse Sealant Glaze). The major advantage is that these products can last you 6 months.
