this might be similar to the navi prob our cars have.. they don't turn on in cold temps eigther.. this goes for the lincoln navigator navi as well that I've heard about.. they just usually let the car warm up abit..

mine has no problem tunring on...but when it is cold (ie morning) the screen gets 'wavy' for 1-2 minutes. i presume its just warming up. but again no problem physically turning on.

Could it be any of your wired connections?

It may have something to do with the fact that they are LCD screens. Liquid (such as that within the monitor) can act differently depending upon the weather conditions...

I have experienced outside temperatures as low as 35° with no problems powering on the Microvision TFT monitor.
