how many MPG should i expact from my 97 max? currently i am only getting 14.2 . i think that sucks . i think even v8 would do better than that.

 

That definitely sounds sh!tty. See how much it does per tank.. I was getting ~300, but have since replaced the air filter, fuel filter, and have gotten and oil change (Mobil 1), so I'm hoping for at least 350 now.. We'll see.

 

man I am getting sub 12's in my '96 I30. I get 200mpt. I don't push it hard at all either.

Wow that is very ****ty. You may have an issue with the car. I am getting around 21-22 city. I have gotten up to 350 miles city, but really 335 is more common. I usually get my first light indicator around 315-320 miles and I am not the most gentle person on the throttle When I bought my car out of town, (flew 800 miles to get the stick baby!) I managed 505 miles on a tank of gas on cruise control at 77 mph. I was impressed because I never got more than 360 miles out of my 1993 SHO, and bang, over 500 miles out of the box with the Max. I was very happy.

If you guys aren't near 20 mpg city, check the filters, grade/quality of fuel used, any check engine lights or possible codes, spark plugs...

 

dude...did you not post this same **** earlier, and people were telling you to fix your o2 sensors, and knock sensor? wtf? youve got some ****in problems dude
