Odometer stopped working
Odometer stopped working
did anybody have this problem, i have a 95 maxma with 149K on it and all of a sudden it stopped working. where can i buy another one or is it fixable?
Hey, If it's the same head they used in the 93 Maximas, you need a head because eventually the speedo way down the road will stop working too. Though mine in my 93 never did ( speedo ). It may start working intermittently here and there though.
Good Luck man.

Mines doing it (again) too...
Damn these 95 odos..
I noticed my odo works PERFECT in the winter months, but rarely when the temp gets above 60F
I'm not sure how to resolve this issue.. I hate the driving it without putting miles on the odo (honesty thing), but the car will probably sold within the family and driven till it's dead so I'm not too torn up about it...but still

My odometer hasn't worked in a couple of years (stopped around 125k miles) the speedometer has never had a problem. No fault codes. I don't understand how the speedometer could continue to work if the speed sensor is bad. Mine's also a 95.

My odometer stopped working a while back, it would work intermittently, then finally it just died. I ended up going to the junkyard and buying a new cluster with like 20K more miles on it, but whatever. I found a good writeup on how to change it out, it's not too complex, I'll see if I can find it again and post a link.
my 90 keeps going in and out throughout the day. i have to change the oil every 2000 miles according to my odometer. its good for the warranty on my trans though. ill keep it under the 12,000 mile mark for a while
My tachometer has been broken since 1999 and my odometer recently stopped working about a year ago. Odometer has been rolling just a bit after cold startups. But I bought a 96/97 I30t cluster with about the right amount of mileage. Hopefully I can fix both problems with this...
Anybody know any good tips on getting to the cluster? I have performed whatever the link below instructed in the past and ended up losing one of the metal clips that attaches to the cluster bezel:

I swapped out my broken cluster with another one that came out of a 97 I30t with similar mileage. Everything works fine now although I did notice that my check engine symbol has been replaced with "service engine soon" text. No biggie though. I can always change it out.
I took the old cluster apart to see if I could find anything charred or burnt (I don't have sophisticated tools). Maybe I will look into it a bit further when I have time.

Check the link I posted under this thread. That's what I used. If you follow the instructions, it is not too bad. I think the only part that I would warn about is the metal clips that hold the interior parts in place. After pulling off the parts, sometimes the clips don't come out with it.
I bought mine for about $40 shipped off of ebay. I know junkyards have them too but I found the prices to be cheaper on ebay. Just make sure to get the one with the analog odometer. Otherwise, it won't work on your 95 without rewiring.
