How should I waste my tax return??

Finally got something back from the government and obviously will drop it into the max. Looking at doing my strut bar and was wondering if the Stilen is worth the money or is the one off Custom Enterprises just as good. No more ebay junk for the max.

well...I dunno what list of mods u already have, but if I was you I would start with either ur suspension (like u stated) or a y_pipe, biggest gain for the buck.

Everyone is just gonna tell you to get one off ebay. They all work the same, the stillen and custommaxima ones just look nice. Get one off ebay, they arent junk

Ask Irishmax about his 18inch rims....not trying to bash on you irish, but just using it as a reference. If you put 18's with those itty bitty tires on, your wheel gap will look bigger, AND your 4x4 stance will dramatically increase. So i would DEF recommend that you go with suspension with your tax return, that is what i am doing

coilovers will cost you anywhere from 800-over 1000, i think the tein basics are around 800, i dont know much about coilovers, because its out of my pricerange, so i havnt done much research on em, someone else will be able to shed some more light onto the coilover topic though, if you have any questions about any strut/spring combo, i can probably answer them

I'd say keep your money just in case a knock sensor, coils, MAF sensor, seals or gaskets, cv boot/axle, or other wear and tear related items go out! Look under your car too because maybe you have leak you don't know about. You'd be hard press if you find out later after you dropped the money for the lowering kit. Then you'd be sweating bullets because you don't have the cash to get your car back and running again. Unless, you already have that emergency repair money saved. Then you can go ahead and spend it on a mod or two.

I have had 18x8's for 3 years now, with no suspension. They make the car look much better than the 16x6.5 it came with. Have gotten many compliments over the last 3 years. The Maxima is not a performance car, it doesn't handle very well. Rims are bang-for-buck for looks, as are most mods to a Maxima. If you don't believe that Nissans don't handle. just look at the 350Z track model. It gets ripped by the car mags.

PS--the overall diameter on a 235/40-18 is identical (within 2%) to a 215/55-16, so why would the wheel gap look bigger? it's the same.

e-fund just saved my bacon: $300 for 2 x O2 sensors and a KS + new plugs

Just found a cracked CV boot whilst rooting around down there so now both of these are next (if one goes, the second is sure to follow soon) and will probably swap out the struts while there.

With over 111K on the Max these types of issues will become more and more frequent. Best to keep the warchest fully funded... **** does happen after all.

That makes too much sense. But I think the moral on this forum is to spend more on your Maxima than it would cost to buy a new BMW.....because handling does not matter!

Saving today is more important than ever before with our economy being as it is. Investing is hit/miss.

yeah dump the money in a savings account and let it collect interest. dont blow it on a car, its not a good investment, even though we all are anyways.

The cattman fstb looks pretty tough compared to the stillen, but they all serve the same purpose, try a DEK 00V.I.(5th gen manifold) if you are a do-it yourself kinda person, parts needed should only run 300$ tops, this is a custom mod that will dramatically improve the top end, unless you're are happy w/your car giving up @ 5,000 rpms like all non-boosted 4th gens do, even my piece of ****, but not for long!
