I understand that the knock sensor is a weak point on the VQ, but how many knock sensors have you had to replace during the life of your maxima? I'm going to replace mine this week, and I need to know what to look forward to in the future...about how long do/can they last?

I'm replacing my first one and I'm at 60k miles right now and about 7.5 years old. I'm hoping its the last time I need to replace it before I sell it

 

188k miles and still on my original KS..

Replaced mine at 60k miles.

 

On second one replaced the first at @ 230k miles.

I've gone through three in the last year....



(since they're the same sensor for my Maxima, 240, and Altima and all of them were bad)..

 

I think mine's still original. I'm at about 56,000 miles? (90,000 km.)

I have to replace mine also... how much is it? I don't even know what the hell it is... or where it's located... it just came up on the diag computer when they checked my car... along w/ an o2 sensor... *sigh*

Also, replace the O2 sensor first. The KS code can be triggered by the bad O2 sensor.
