i just bought a used stillen short ram intake from an Org guy last weekend and now EVERY time i get into my car i STEP ON IT. in 2nd and 3rd it gets nice and loud, i slow down and wait for people to blow past on the street, my girlfriend doesnt understand...it makes it sound like ive got somehting other than just a short intake on my car. hehe

looking for any mods that will make my car sound awsome and maybe even enhance performance. actualy with the Stillen intake i notice more pull...maybe im just gunning it alot more who knows.
He sold it because it was too loud for his taste, i think its not loud enough. ie. i want something that i can rev in neutral, and just cruising, that will make my car more loud

my questions are
what mods change the cars sound?
also, the guy said that it's better if the filter on the intake is dirty for some reason...i dont know, is that true? seems wierd.
such thing as a dual pop charger for maxima?

Dirty filter = loudness? I doubt it ... You'll soon tire of that noise, at least I did.

To accent it, get a y-pipe and cat-back w/ a long a.s.s resonator...

 

loud is annoying, but if you do want loud, get a cheap loud exhaust. that should do it.

haha i bought a stillen y-pipe and test pipe.. but then a cheap-a$$ catback exhaust.. cuz you know that part doesnt affect power... and it had clamps that never stayed tight.. so the mufler always fell off.. thats loud but pretty freakin obnoxious

if you want a loud exhaust setup get a megan's racing cat-back off of e-bay they are pretty dam loud

yup, very rice, i hate loud cars, especially those with nothing but a fart can. i have a stillen short ram intake on my max too, first i liked it, but it doesn't do much. it growls really loud past 2500rpm and it isn't all that pleasing to hear.

 

take a screwdriver and stab the **** out of your muffler. Tada! free rice.

My Fart Can doesn't sound like farts. I've been told by other tuner enthusiast that my car sounds like an airplane and that "its pretty fukcin' sweet", some random guy asked If i was turbo charged cuz it sounded like I was moving a lot of exhaust. I dont reqally understand the turbo part but this fart cannon has Catman headers in front of it, and It scares people all the time.

as for a fart can i haaaate thoes THEYRE ricer.
the stillen short ram doesnt even make much noise when youre cruising even above 2 or 3k, just when u bog it out a bit and step on it. its sounds cool okay and u guys think its too loud? ur crazy a ypipe and catback is louder than that i think, maybe more smooth sounding though

 

I love my Maxima because its quiet. It was a very traumatic experience for me to even by a Budget y-pipe and K&N panel filter. Why screw up a good thing? Give your head a good shake, count to 10, talk to your girl friend before she leaves you, and forgedaboud da noiz, lol!

i realy never thought of myself as a "ricer"
although i reaaly dont like 4 or 5" fart pipes, fake decals, huge giant spoilers straight off of Boeng 747's or even CF hoods...i like when i can hear my car. at idle your car should be quiet as a mouse but if you step on it, it sdhould make some noise. imo
there's a tasteful line drawn between tacky and taste. are you all trying to have a creeper car or what?

 

YEs, I am into the sleeper look/feel/sound. I was into all that noise, now went back to stock intake set-up, and it's fine with my Y/CBE. Even now, I sometimes regret my cat-back.

Best sleeper I can think of would be Ypipe ,JWT ECU&cams/00VI/ stock intake, stock cat-back

I hear these people with the loud civics, mazda 626s, and the last car I saw that sounded like a tractor was a toyota paseo..

The cars above are all wuss cars. The louder the car is the more of an idiot you are.-- Unless of course you drive a well tuned machine with a nice exhaust tone. Then its not noise. It's like music.

I recommend taking off your intake, Take off your headers too.
