Timing chain life

Am having a nissan mechanic change my motor seal &tranny rear main, i was just wondering,whats the life on a timing chain on maxima's?my cars on 106,***miles

200+k and up.....girlfriend has 230 now on 3rd gen and still going

I was told in excess of 300,000 miles when I bought my car and I'm inclined to believe that providing the car hasn't been constantly driven like you stole it and not maintained properly, eg. regular oil changes, etc.

chain is designed to last the life of the engine.

I was thinking the same thing. I think only the tensioner may need replacement. That is, unless the chain just blows apart for some unknown reason.

200k + on my maxi and still have the stock chain you do not need to change them
