coolant thermostat / temp of lower rad hose

My upper radiator hose gets hot. However, my lower radiator hose remains COOL. My fans run constantly, but the guage inside the car stays right in the center (doesn't ever show any signs of overheating). My heater works find. Also, I just recently replaced my coolant thermostat with one I purchased from Autozone.

Does anyone know what temp the lower radiator hose is supposed to be? cold or hot?

When's the last time you did a radiator flush, this might help.

I've never thought about that but it would make sense that the lower hose is cooler. That is the direction of flow afterall.

I did the flush when I changed my thermostat.

The reason I'm concerned is because my fans are always blowing and my lower rad hose is a lot cooler than the top one (which is really hot).

That or the fan relay could be messed so the fans are always on. What is your coolant at usually?

Pull it out. Go to dealer. Buy new one. Put new one in. I would open it up first though to see if anything looks out of whack.
