Replaced knock sensor, something not right

I just replaced the knock sensor today and my car runs really rough now. To change the senor i took out the upper intake manafold and all the other stuff that the haynes manual says to do excpect take out the lower intake manafold. I was able to loosin it enough to raise it about a half inch which gave me enough room to access the knock sensor. Once i got everything back together i took it for a spin. It idles rough and drives rough now. During acceleration it feels like the car cuts out and not smooth. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Tom

1 maybe you messed the gasket (just a guess)
2 you should've spent $15 dollards on a rachet extension and 12mm swivel socket. and done the change in 10 minutes.
3 check for codes
4 maybe a coil is not working
5 moist in the cilinders?
6 do a seam foam cleaning
7 clean the TB

these are things I would think about doing it

P.S. funnny thing is, just today it took me 10 minutes to take off the Knock sensor from my crashed maxima.

So you raised the lower manifold? You probably have a bunch of air leaks and the engine is getting alot of unmetered air. You should NOT have just lifed the lower manifold and not replaced those gaskets. Those are important. That's why they are expensive. I think the lower has some coolant jackets that the gasket has to seal off from the intake manifold air.

I did buy the exstention bar and try to do it that way but i could get in there good enough to do it that way. While i had it apart i cleaned the intake a litte and the TB.

This is the VE30DE version: See on both ends? That is the coolant jacket. If you get coolant flowing into the intake ports

you have to replace the gaskets dude. antything that has gaskets especaily having to do with intake you have to replace the gaskets. think about it if you have used it once its already been smashed down, if you dont replace it there is gunna be a leak

Holy cripes man. You need to buy a manual and read the stickies. Do your homework and do it right. This sounds like a disaster in the making.
