Just replaced my Starter! Saved $400 off Dealer!

@132k my starter was shot.

Got a new one at Autozone for $149 (after core exchange).

2 hrs of my own labor.

$24 in new tools - I needed a 17mm ratchet and a 12" long 3/8" ratchet wrench to get on the lower bolt and to get enough leverage to loosen the OEM bolt.

VERY EASY job.

I'd never have anyone charge labor on such a simple job as that.

Think I am on my second crapzone starter. Still don't like it very much but the dealer was going to charge twice as much. But when you have nearly 250k miles on your car it's a no brainer.
