SS clutch line installation ??'s

I have a leaky clutch line that is letting air in the system and causing me to have to "pump up" the clutch to shift sometimes so I think it's about time I installed my stainless steel braided clutch line. However I noticed that the SS line is different from the setup in the car...instead of being one straight line the one in the car is like two different lines with a box connecting them in the middle and bolted to the frame. So I'm assuming that I don't need this box thing? Is that just to soften the shifts or something?

the little box seems to provide no purpose other than to make another spot for leaks to occur, and the SS lines will bypass that. got mine, and put it on, so much better, DO IT!
