Voice Warning System

After searching for hours about the Nissan voice warning system, I came up with virtually nothing. So I decided to sign up here and see if you helpful folk could give me a hand with some stuff.

I remember hearing the Nissan voice a few years back and ever since I wanted to get ahold of the voice module to see how it works and install it into a car. I've already worked with Chrysler's version which is a computer synthesized version and have wiring diagrams on how to install the unit.

I'd like to put a voice into my Shadow but Chrysler's is male. The Nissan one is female. As the car's name is "Hailie" she needs the female voice box. Plus, it seems the Nissan one is simple as it doesn't monitor as much as the ChryCo one does. So I'm looking for wiring diagrams, pictures, sound clips, and the modules themselves. From what I've read the Nissan one uses a little record? Are all of them like that or just early ones?

Anyway, thanks for all your help and I really hope SOMEONE has audio recordings of the darn thing...

Just talked to local junkyard, they have 3 Maxima's from 85-88. If someone could tell me what I all need to remove from the car and where it's at, I would greatly appreciate it.

If you look at the center console, under the ashtray is a bin. The voice module is under that bin. At least it is in an 85. 86 should be the same.

Okay cool. WHen I get to go there I'll grab the box and the switch in the console that says Repeat on it. Wouldn't happen to have the wiring diagram?

From: San Diego, and all over it!
it dosent have a lil record its a computer chip the big as one in the middle, and to take out the wireing youll have to take that whole car apart for the different responses like, "fuel is low, right door is open, left door is open, keys in the ignition, parking brake is on". good luck.

My guess is that the sensors in the Nissan just send a ground to the voice box to trigger it's responses. That's how the Chrysler EVA works. My Shadow has the needed sensors/switches that should trigger all of what it needs to say so I have to splice the Nissan voice box into the Chrysler wiring. Shouldn't be too bad once I get the wiring for the box.

Went to the Junkyard today....... found ONE old Maxima (think it was a 87-88, had auto seatbelts)...

Forcibly ripped out the center console and found a small goldish color box. Cut the wires to it and took it happily after they charged me $10 instead of the $5 like they said they would (they wanted $15 but I fought that after two hours of slippery sloppy MUD and the imports are in the way back). I had a bad feeling when I got up to the counter as I didn't remember seeing the voice repeat/off switch... but it was in the right spot... also had the shock switch thing too but behind it was a plastic plate where the swich probably was suppost to be...

Went to the Nissan dealer... the box is a cruise control module... $10 wasted...

Anyone need a cruise module for a V6 Manual Transmission Maxima?

I finally acquired TWO voice boxes from the 84-87 Maximas along with the repeat/off switches for them. Could someone email me the wiring diagram for the boxes? I'd like to start the testing and install of these into my Shadow.

if this was about 2 years ago when I still had my 88 max... I could have used that cruise control module.

I'm sorry, ASCD control unit, if you use Nissan's terminology.

you could always E-bay it.

Not too worried about it. I sold it to my friend so he could use the junkyard credit and I could go put gas in my Shadow instead. LOL

Still need wiring diagrams for that darn box tho...

Voice System

This is somewhat off the topic of installing the Voice system into a newer car.
I have several manuals to the maxi, yet i cannot find anything about the voice warning system. I have an 87' born in 86' with the voice system, however the only thing she says is "Fuel Level is Low" and thats it, nothing else. Do y'all think the control box is fried or the wires from all the other sensors, or a ground issue?

i have a module, its part number 25925 32E60 if any one wants it for $20.

and if the speedo isnt working in the car all the time it sounds like the gear at the end of the cable has teeth missing off of it and stops if it gets to where theyre gone
