Mr Clean Eraser works in every spot!

So after using about 3 different kinds of wheel cleaners, this rusted brake dust wasnt coming off.... Then it hit me... Mr clean eraser.... You be the judge.

Btw, this is what kind of dirt was picked up after going over a small section of one of my front seats:

Not bad for only a couple bucks.

That's pretty impressive. Did it seem to induce any scratches? I'd still be pretty afraid to use it on paint, but it looks like it worked well. How did it work on the seats? They're leather?

No scratches at all, I figure even if there were scratches, a simple buff and wax would fix that. I would assume its much safer to use than a harsh chemical that could possibly strip the clearcoat.

And yes its leather, it really only works on tan leather, dont try it on black.

Don't try it on black because of that white residue it leaves?

I was simply amazed how well this thing worked on the door panels. There was dirt in there that didn't even want to come out scrubbing with a toothbrush and the MCME took it out soooooo much easier...a definite time saver.

If you're going to use something on your paint to remove stubborn dirt, use a clay bar instead. It's made for that purpose.

I think clay would have done the same job on your wheels too. I've removed lots of rust spots on wheels and paint with clay.

But the nice thing with the eraser is, you can rinse all that crap right out of it. Clay likes to hold onto things, risks scratching paint in the future. I wouldnt use this on my paint anyways, thats what the rubbing compound is for.

I just thought id try it out on the wheels.

Not true, clay bars (if used properly) will not scratch paint.

So, do these erasers have some kinda cleaner IN them? or are they just like a stiff sponge that you buy?

They work like cleaning sandpaper. They make lots of little scuffs and have a cleaning product in them. If you rub it on you hand, you will get lots of little cuts on it. Its not good to use on everything, but stuff like door sills and other plastic its great

I just rubbed one on my hand...no cuts.

You can get one in the household cleaning supply section of your local supermarket or wally world.

What?

I actually used it to remove dried wax in the door jambs, no scratches to the paint.

uhh, there's no cleaning agents in the eraser. like mentioned above, it's acts like a sandpaper in a way. you won't get little cuts in your hand from using it. if that was the case, my hand would still be in bandages

OK, Im not saying the thing cuts your hand like a knife. Try wetting it and rub it hard over the tip of your finger or another part of your hand for awhile. I mean its on the box, "Using on skin will likely cause abrasions". This is why I said its like sandpaper, of course its not gonna make big cuts. But after a few minutes and hard pressure, you will have very small cuts. You definatly shouldnt use this on paint, it makes tons of micro-marring scratches. It says its abrasive right on the box. Also, in the directions, it tells you to not use on surfaces that are polished/glossy, brushed, satin, or dark, so why would you use this on you paint? It not only scratches paint, but will dull vinyl.

Think about it dude, scuffs on black leather stick out ALOT more than scuffs on tan leather. I bet it still scuffs up the tan leather, but the point is that you cant really even see it cause its sucha light color..

Ive never had it damage my leather. Only places you gotta be careful are big cracks in the leather, cause the eraser can get caught and take a little leather with it.

Aslong as you use leather conditioner after using it, you're causing no harm.

I've actually now seen the Mr Clean Eraser 'for cars' in the automotive section at Target. I'm guessing it's the same product in a different box, but I don't know for sure.

I used the erasers on my leather seats last year, and was amazed at the grime it pulled off. I didn't think they were dirty until I saw what they looked like after the magic eraser.

We buy the monster box at Sam's or Costco, and use them all over the house. When we moved last summer, we went through a couple boxes cleaning everything.

I was just recommending these to some people at work yesterday!

You guys should really be using a leather cleaner and a microfiber towel instead of an abrasive. Leather cleaner would be much friendlier to the leather, and you know that won't leave any scuffs.

The leather cleaner I've used didn't have near the effect that the eraser did. But then again, I could just be using the wrong leather cleaner.

It'll leave white residue on everything. You just need to have a normal vinyl cleaner (or 1 part woolite laundry detergent mixed with 6 parts water) to clean up after it. Find a good water based vinyl dressing to use too while you're at it.

I just got to use the cleaner on my door panels and wow this stuff is great.. My door panels look better than brand new. Never been this clean. Ialso used the cleaner in some spots on my leather seats and it got everything right up.. i wouldnt recommend using it to clean the entire seats but only spots. But for door panels its perfect.

i cleaned all my seats last summer with it. then followed up with conditioner. car looked 100x better after cleaning. before you could see dirt all over the leather. I also used it on door sills and the bottom of the door that gets kicked a lot as people get in/out. took off nearly all the marks. I have yet to damage anything with one. I use them to clean my white nike's too. they shine like new again after a quick wipe down.

my friend cleaned his black leather seats with them also and it did no harm. though it really made no difference either.

Ok, let me get this straight....you can use it on leather (I have silver leather), door sills, any plastic, and on wheels, right? Am I missing something, or is this thing really magic ? How much use do you get out of one?

just cleaned my frost leather this afternoon.
started with a very mild slolution of warm water & dial body wash w/microfibre towel. came out a bit cleaner still could see some dirt in the grain though. continued with the mr clean eraser - what a DIFFERENCE! have used the rest of the pad to clean the door sills and the bottom of the doors.
applied Lexol leather conditioner - rubbing it in by hand. will sit overnight & polish tommorrow.

I still cannot believe how well the eraser cleaned my door panels. It was able to get the dirt that was in the little textured surface of the door panels..
