LED Interior (Twelve 1024x768 Pics)

This thread is a direct follow-up of G4Nismo's ~~~~pics Of Many Led Mods~~~~ *56k Beware*. I decided to use a white color scheme for my interior, but be advised - it is a work in progress. There are many things I have not modded yet because I'm still learning. Although in some pictures, the LEDs appear to be blue, they are not - they are completely white in person. Enough talk, here are the pics:

Don't mind the missing gauge ring and the missing/cracked light covers - the replacements are in the mail. The rest of the pictures are here:

Picture 7
Picture 8

Sorry for the blur guys, crappy HP camera.

nice. i'm going with a white genre as well. The only thing im worried about is that there is a green filter behind the auto climate control buttons that makes the light seem a shade green. I will be doing my Bose HU this weekend, I just hope the colors won't be completely different. Maybe you can shed some light. [white is hard as nuts. if the led is pointed slightly crooked, it seems like a different shade of color. but blue is too popular]

edit:: are the cruise control and dimmer switch supposed to light up? mine dont

how many did you put in your door lights? how many resistors? I used 3 LEDs and 1 resistor in mine. does the light in the doors disperse really well? mine looks like just 3 individual lights, so maybe I need to sand them or something.

I'm still working on that cruise control switch. nice job with that one.

How hard were the rear window switches to do? I've heard they are a PITA.

I tried putting white cellofane paper in the clock, and it didn't change ****. Although I did remove the BOSE headunit, I didn't even attempt taking it apart. I agree, blue is too popular. The cruise control and dimmer are supposed to light up, like everything else. Did you use resistors on those?

I just used 1 LED/1 resistor in each door, and they seem to illuminate very well. I positioned the LED sideways - the same way the old ligt bulb used to be. What is the viewing angle on your LEDs? If the viewing angle is 30 degrees or more, I could see why it'd look like 3 individual lights.

You need to put RED cellophane on the clock lcd to make it white...ofcourse white cellophane will not do anything because it does not have any specific radiating wavelenght...

Oops, I meant to type red, but the desired product came out. Yes, I did use RED, and it's still GREEN.

So did you end up leaving it **** green, or did you do something else? I really would like to make my BOSE headunit white, cause the green is just cramping the white color scheme

place red cellophone and then blue on top.

hey madmdv, when u did ur hazard led, did u notice that white plastic piece which allows the button to be pushed in and out? when i tried to replace the bulb, i must have messsd w/ that piece and the switch didn't work right. i actually had to hold the button in order for the hazards to come on so a bought a new one and had not touched it since.

that little white plastic piece was the biggest pain ever. it took me so long to get that switch back together so it worked right. that was the first LED mod I ever did too. I did that one because I thought it would be easy....yeah, right.

Yeah, I actually broke the plastic piece that goes around the copper connectors on the back, but luckily that didn't affect anything

looks good only suggestion i would have is to place more leds scattered throughout ur gauge cluster cuz it looks like you have some hot spots

Thank you for the critique, you're right. There are a few hotspots, I hate them I tried bending the LEDs so that the tip wasn't facing the gauges directly, but it didn't help much. How would I be able to add more LEDs? Would I have to make more holes in the cluster, or is there something I can do to remove the hotspots on the existing ones?

I would use bulbs instead of leds for anytype of "big area" lighting. Led's are nice but don't compare regular bulbs. Get yourself some 194 "hyper white" bulbs and they should do the job nicely.

Well the camera shows a green square when lighting conditions and focus are right, but in most instances I got a brown square, which means, "It's going to look like ****!"

Thanks for the suggestion, I was going to do that, but didn't know whether to get the regular hyper whites, or the cluster 194 LED bulbs.

Who are you referring to, because I don't have fog lights?

What dash components, specifically, do you want to modify? Do you have manual climate control, or auto climate control? Do you want to use LEDs, or do you want to just replace the factory bulbs? Get the LEDs off eBay (User CWithK). Follow up.
