Bose CD CHanger Removal Tips
Bose CD CHanger Removal Tips
My CD changer has an issue where the drivers side channels cut out randomly. Hitting the brakes hard sometimes cures it. I took the front panel off and tried playing with the harness, and it didn't do anything. So I've pretty much decided the problem is internal to the changer itself.
Has anyone pulled the changer out? I'm looking at it and it seems that the two side panels of the center console need to be removed to access screws at the side of the changer. Is there an easier way to remove it? Something like how an aftermarket deck fits into a DIN mounting bracket with quick release tabs at the sides?
Any suggestions before I tear apart the stack? The dealership is quite a long ways away so I'm going to have them send me another changer and just do the swap myself rather than rack on 300km of travel for a half hour job.

You have to take out the whole thing... there are 2 more screws that hold the LED screen housing AND the head unit in place. You take out everything, then pull the housing, THEN you can unscrew the HU out and take it out.

Great info and pics on how to remove all that stuff. Removing the changer would be the next step, not covered by the sticky. Seems simple enough. Just a few more screws to take out. Remove the entire assembly and then you get access to the screws on the side to take out the changer. I wouldn't have guessed the entire info screen - changer is all one removable piece.
Headin out to the garage for some fun...thanks.
