H&R to Tein H-Tech Springs?

I posted a question similar to this 2 weeks ago except with Progress springs and the general concensus was that progress is a little rough and will not be able to compare to the H&R very closely...I went back and re-read a few posts a while ago about the H-Tech vs Progress and I couldn't really find that much useful information on the actual ride of the H-Techs on Illuminas on different settings...so my new question...I have H&R/Illuminas and I want to go lower, and with my being very happy with the H&R ride now, is it likely that I can now move to the H-Tech Springs and be happy with the ride that they offer? I could also maybe put H-Tech just in the front and leave the H&R in the back but I don't know if that would be as even or smart to do...the system in the trunk also seems to push the back lower just a little bit but maybe it's just me...Opinions on the possible switch? Thanks guys.

I have H-Techs on Illuminas and mine are set to 3F/4R and the ride is perfect on perfect roads.....hit a metal strip in the freeway etc... and it's jarring to say the least. I've never bent a rim or anything and I've hit some pretty solid bumps/holes. My car has a slight "rake" to it. I think the H-techs make the front look a little lower than the rear. It may just be an illusion but it's my thought. I've tried different settings on the front but it seems that you need to change both the front and the back otherwise it gets "bouncy" or something. I tried 2F/4R and the ride was a little weird.

Bump, am wondering the same thing.

Perhaps with the H-techs all around your car would sit level due to the little xtra weight of your system in the back, given that the H-techs don't sit quite as low as the H&Rs in the rear.

I recently switched from Eibach's to H-techs. I am very happy with the ride the h-techs offer. I have my Illumina's set at 3F/3R. Still comfortable but responsive.

Kevin.. I'd go with H-techs in the front and keep the H&R's in the back. That setup will most likely be a perfectly level match since the H&R's keep the rear lower than the front, and the Teins keep the front lower than the rear.

And since the H&R fronts keep the front level with the stock SE rears, then you could always help a fellow MA guy out and sell those H&R fronts to me... -Shaun

How much softer is the ride with the H-Techs than the Eibachs?...I rode in a 4th gen with eibachs and i considered the ride to be pretty harsh.

The difference is like night and day for me. I feel like I drive a Lexus now it rides so much smoother. I liked the Eibach's for what they are but it got to be to harsh for me after awhile.

If you're going to drive your car daily, the Eibachs tend to punish your kidneys. They're great quality springs, but they're a little too stiff for what most of us have in mind. It's no surprise that you like the ride better on the H-Techs.

I don't see how it could be a good thing to mix and match springs bc of the diff spring rates and stuff...i'd like to keep H&R in rear at 26" and H-Tech up front gives 26 1/4" so its 1/4 higher in front (rather than 1/4 lower in front with h-tech all around) ...i'd imagine the h-techs might be noticeably rougher up front than the h&r in the back...if i set the Illuminas on 2/2 the way they are now...opinions?
