Fried harness

I think I may have fried the connector of my wire harness for my driver side headlamp. I was messing around with the fuses to see if I could disable he DRLs and when I tried to check the driver side headlamp was not working. I checked the bulb and even tried a different one and it didn't work either. I checked all the fuses and they were all fine. So finally checked the plug and I noticed that part of it had melted and it definitely didn't look like the passenger side one.

Does anyone know how cheap this part is or how easy it would be to repair?

I'll try to post pics.

its from improper wattage lights you probably have in. the plug comes with about a foot of wire. i put em in my car after both did exactly that and no problems since, also changed bulbs to propper wattage.

Stock wattage. The bulbs in the car now are actually stock bulbs. Could I find this whole part at an auto parts store or the dealer only?

double check i think stock is 55/65 that usually only happens when there is a higher watage bulb. replace it and after 10 min with the headlights on feel the connector. it should not be hot. mine burned so bad it filled the headlight with smoke and i hade to remove and clean the inside lense.

The only problem I could have think of was the amount of water that had somehow found its way into the engine bay. The battery and fuse boxes all had small amounts of water and maybe it got in there. I washed my car this morning and used intense streams in my wheel wells. I DID NOT use overwattage bulbs and never will so that's not the reason. I did pull a fuse out of the fuse box under the steering column, maybe that did it.

it can also happen if it shorts out. thats what happened to mine. i went to a junk yard and bought a new plug for 5 bucks. they just cut it off with a few inches of wire. then i just connected it to the wire on the car. nissan wanted $150 for the plug and 10 feet of wiring

Both of my plugs look like yours, but even worse ! I ran Piaa SuperWhites stock wattage for 2 years, and for the last 2 years I been on Silviania SilverStars. I have to open the hood every other time at nite when I fire up my car and jiggle the connectors to get the lights to come on !! Sucks, but I have 02-03 headlights in my room just need to get some bulbs for the high beam, parking and turn singal lights. I bought the special HID harness from Nissan that gives you all the plugs for the 02 lights to connect them to my 01. This week I should have the 02 lights on my car
