Replaced Hanshin coils with Mitsubishi- WOW!! Read...
Well, I had some spare Mitsubishi coils lying around, and rather than try to clean up my Hanshins, I threw the Mitsus in there. After doing the front bank I took it for a drive and didn't notice any difference. After I did the back however, I noticed that the vibrations at idle that used to shake the car are no longer there!! All this time I thought it was because of the PR motor mounts, but I guess they just magnified the problem, since I barely feel any vibration at idle now.
As for an increase in power, I can't tell for sure. First gear feels a little more responsive, but I still am able to go through the gear without spinning at all. Any real power differenced will be discovered at the track.
I'm very glad I got around to doing this, especially since it was free. I just hope this helps with the roughness I feel when I try to spray.
Moral of the thread: Clean or replace your coils. I'm sure not everybody will notice the difference I did, but for once something good happened to me and my car.

I'm about to do this as well. I have a set of Mits. coils from a wrecked 96. I'm getting a mis at idle for over a year now. Seems to drive fine, gas mileage is great and performance seems fine, but that occasional miss annoys me at times.
I'm going to take my coils out, clean them up and reinstall them. If the miss is still there, I'll swap the Mits. coils starting with the rear bank first.

i have the same problem too... but i havent been able to figure out what it is. i found a pack that was jumping current so i replaced it and still didnt fix the prob. and than i cleaned out my hanshins and still. i thought it could be the throttle position sensor. my car has a slight annoying missing while in drive and at idle... like if im at a stoplight. the car only does it when it is at running temp. when it is cold it will not do it and it will not do it if it is cold outside. my plugs have just been replaced (NGK plats) as well. the problem got worse when i replaced my plugs... could this be some electrical failure like the ecu???? my performance is fine and drives fine just at idle when it misses.

brownsvillemax - Your experiancing the exact same problem as I was. That accosional miss at idle, in drive, warm engine. It's definately your coils that are doing it. The one you just replaced was probably not the one causing it. I just swapped 5 out of 6 packs on my car (one was already replaced) and the miss is completely gone.
