transmission advice

The next thing I need to do to my car is fix the leaking tranny. I finally found out today how a small leak can get all over the underbody. The fluid is dripping from somewhere above the (drivers side) CV joint (at the top of the tranny) onto the rotating CV boot and that splatters it everywhere. Any idea what seal is in this area or if I should undertake this myself? A shop is going to look at it tomorrow ad tell me what they think. I also have a new solenoid pack to put in at the same time.

it might be coming from the tranny filter pan gasket. the VG tranny filters are actually on the top drivers side of the tranny I believe (if you look down under you intakeresonator youll see the bolts and whatnot)......it could be the gasket that seals that........good luck

My 92 GXE vg has the JATCO RE4F02A Tranny. The info is printed on the vehicle identifacation plate. (on the cowl at the rear of the engine compartment).
