Dual Exhaust Set Up

I'm buying a 95 on Saturday and I want to add a new exhaust to it. I was thinking of buying a Flowmaster 60 serious with the single inlet/dual outlet and having a bend ran by the back of the bumper and have the bend ran other side or switch the muffler the other way and have one bend coming straight where the muffler tip normally lines up and the other bend wrap around the spare tire area. Anybody have this done already? Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

it's kinda hard to understand what you said, but i think dual exhaust would be a good idea. people say that it doesn't fit, but i think it would if you bring both pipes into the same tip, so not a true dual exhaust, i guess you could say, but still better than stock. run seperate from both headers, then bring the piping from one of the headers (not sure if it's front of back) along the left of the car, and meet them near the spare to go out the same muffler. and i recommend a single tip unless you cut out the rear bumper more to make the twin tip look good. single tip looks smoother and cleaner IMO

supposedly no room in the tunnel to do two independent pipes.
as well with the gains from all of the exhaust work is it really worth it?

Personally, if it was me I woudl take the easy route and tod two pipes our of the rear. Mount a muffler with a single inlet dual outlet just behind the cat, work the two pipes around the wheel well and just go with the two tips exiting instead of a side with a muffler and one pipe. THis makes it look cleaner, and will drop the tone a little bit.

This is how I did mine.

There is no need to smash in your spare tire well.

i remember there was a person that had a black 99 max with true dual exhaust no fake flowmaster inlet 2 outlet exhausts. this guy banged up his spare tire well and had a straight pipe coming from each outlet from the headers that is true dual in my eyes and he had sp1 tips and it sounded mean that is one mod on the future list that didnt fit on the sig

i banged out my spare tire well and wrapped a connector pipe then took a saw to the bumper i did it myself on my mechanics lift he did all the bending, it doesnt sound like a crappy civic, more like a low bass/ rumble, but not that loud but if you drop it in 5th it roars

Im thinking about dual exhaust sometime in the next couple months. Ive had the muffler sitting in my garage for 2 months now (single inlet, dual outlet). I'll see if I can find a decent shop to do it.

Ant, did you have a single 2.5" catback on before? and if you did, how much of a difference did the dual make as far as sound goes? Drone less with dual?

The left one does look off, but usually in life the left one hangs a little lower!!

Yeah, that's the drawback in things that don't come from the factory. Anybody who does things on their own, be it plumbing, carpentry, etc. knows it is very very difficult to get things to be finished perfectly. General rule of thumb is when it's something you see, it may be worth it to let the pro do it...

No, I had stock before. This one drones pretty good but nothing crazy.
