New Parts Ordered

Done:
Tinted windows
Bazooka bass tube
Intake

Ordered:
Eibach Springs
Front/Rear Drilled/Slotted Rotors

Need:
Balance/Alignment (After the above is done)
-Got the shimmy and steering wheel is off-centered

Near Future:
y-pipe
Good brake pads
Steel braided brake lines? (anybody know if these exist for our cars?)
Grille (if anybody will sell me a stock one for cheap so I can paint it)

Have any of you put the springs on yourselves? I've changed springs on other cars using hand tools and a spring compressor, but was wondering if there was anything in particular to watch out for with our Maximas.

I bought this car thinking I wouldn't do anything to it...I can never leave a car alone.

us024077, sent you a message

Not necessarily a wish list, more like a short term agenda. Those on the list are the things that seem most reasonable and soon obtainable... i have another car that i'll autocross that takes up most of my time fixing up.
I really do wish we had some type of ecu upgrade/piggyback...oh well, hopefully soon.

Thanks,
I sent a pm. I was trying to decide on which pads to get, but it wouldn't be too hard to beat the oem ones. Some fresh brake fluid and harder lines should make the braking feel a lot more solid. Thanks for the referral !

Always consider the big brake kits if you're replacing the whole system. Stillen.com has a couple of good kits including the lines, rotors, pads and calipers, 2 piston or 4 piston. They're a little expensive, but if you buy every single component separately it's gonna cost more and will be more difficult to put together.
That's my 2 cents...

Nope nothing in particular for the spring install. Just an easy swap.

When I bought the car I told myself that I would leave it stock. I guess the ORG is just too addicting!

Just curious why you're going with a Bazooka Basetube rather than a pair of subs? Just trying to preserve space in the trunk?

SLuxury, (or anyone) which Y-pipe are you considering? I know most people like the CE Y but you loose the catalytic converter and every time I've been to the emissions testing center they stick a mirror under my cars to check for the cat.

No cat, no pass emissions

The bazooka isn't going to give you the sound of a couple subs in a good box, but I wanted to save space in the trunk and this was an easy add-on to the Bose. All you need is power, ground, and tap off the leads from the stock speakers on the rear deck. No turn-on lead from the fuse box or accessory switch. It detects a signal on the high-level inputs and turns on automatically. It's great for a clean install on a budget when you want to preserve space.

I was considering the CE y-pipe, but not if it's going to require the removal of my cat.

As for the rotors, I got the full set from irotors. 265 shipped for all 4. I wasn't trying to go with a big brake upgrade or anything, it's just that mine are warped just like most people's were/are/will be. I thought that getting these would look better and not warp as easily as having my stock rotors resurfaced or replaced with the same oem parts. I'm not sure if irotors uses the same oem blanks and does their work, but i hope the slots/holes will help in reducing the warping.

Blaxima, I was in VA Beach last week for work (all the Sentara hospitals, if you're familiar with those). I would have loved to check out your onyx max if i knew you were there. I never pay enough attention. I travel almost every week, I should post where I'll be and meet up with some of you.

OT:

SLuxury, what business do you work in? I'm a Structural Engineer E.I.T., and my firm did the Architectural/Engineering work for the 3 Sentara projects. I mainly worked on the Sentara Williamsburg Hospital. Just wondering what your affiliation was with these projects for coincidence purposes. Heck, we might even work at the same company, different offices.

leftfootmax,
I work as a wireless engineer for a company called Eclipsys, based out of Atlanta. We set up the wireless networks for hospitals, sell them communication devices, and sell them our clinical management software. (you'll see our logo on their mobile computers/carts) If you look around the ceilings, you'll see white omni-directional antennas everywhere with cisco ap's blinking green LEDs.
