Any tips on removing clear cover from cluster??

I check the Sticky's but they didnt go into that, but I am wondering if anyone has a tip on how to remove the cover for the gauge cluster without cracking it. I pulled from one side but didn't want to pull very hard in fear of it cracking.. Also if there is an easy way to remove the clear pastic clips that snap into the cluster,.. thanks

first remove the black piece that the clear cover clips onto.. then remove the clear cover after that.. on some of the clips you cant release them unless you take off the black piece that also goes over the gauge cluster.. hopefully that makes sense and can help you out.. u might have to have an extra screwdriver handy so that as you release each of the clips it doesnt accidently snap back into place as you move onto the next one..

I just did this

I just cracked my clear lens. This is my advice on pulling the clear lens off. take a flat head screw driver and wedge it/pry open the clear lens at the point where the snaps are. Do it slowly and work the lens off slowly. the crack was small and is not noticable with the black housing around it. I cracked the housing too and the joint. you can't notice it though. Also the clips that hold in housing are lost very easily. I can't find them... good luck.

i had that same problem with those little metal wedge shaped clips being shot off god knows where into the dash while pullin off the dash trim. however, for those of you with the same problem, some electrical tape wrapped a few times around the post that those clips go on holds it in snug so you dont get rattles.
