oh no clear coat all over paint!!

oh no clear coat all over paint!!

so i was painting my door handles..and i guess when i was putting the coats of clear coat on them it got through the newspaper somehow..now i have this weird looking white surface..can i somehow get rid of that clearcoat without damaging the paint underneath?

Any pics? You mean excess clear coat on the body panels? How much soaked through?

You could try a clay bar. Although used mostly for overspray, it may take some of the extra stuff off.

i tried wallmart and target and neither have a damn clay bar..im goin to pepboys this week

Pepboys will have clay. Look for mothers or clay magic. YOu can also try rubbing compound.

clay bar will take it right off. if u go to pep boys get the clay magic (blue) fine. It works wonders for an over the counter product

Sounds like you got yesterday's news on your paint. Try buffing it out if it's very fine (ie.. like overspray)

depends if the paint fully harden or not. if it's fully harden then just wet sand with 2000...use a sand block or something. CAREFULLY sand the excessive clear off and compound/polish.

if you're not sure it might be worth it to seek a pro detailer.

yea i tried buffing...didnt help even a little..tried turtle wax polisher compound..also didnt do anything..its on the paint pretty damn tough
