Broke my glove box :(

ARRGH! while installing an additional amp (running rca's) to power my internals for some more sound, i attempted to get the glove box dropped all the way down to the floor without breaking it (i've done it before successfully), but this time i guess i pushed just a tad too hard. This is so frustrating, as very soon the glove box was going to house a slim PS2.. i have some ways in mind i'm thinking about fixing it, but just to see if there are any easier methods, is there anyone out there who has broken their glove box and fixed it??

- the left hinge and left nub at top that stops it from dropping to the floor broke off

Can you get under it so you can work with the hinge?

first recommendation...go to local junk yard and replace..like 10 - 20 bucks..... second recommendation..possibly make a fiberglass version?... other than that you can always try the ghetto way and glue it back together if you have acess to it.

Well if he has a ps2 in there hes gonna need a lot of access so glue would suck and he would have to re-glue a lot most likely. But the junkyard definintely has worked wonders for me with crap like this... Usally it's just hard to find same color lol. I say go with Chip's first rec.

yeah..i have to go to the damn junkyard tommorow to try to match my new interior..i have grey interior..but im looking for black pieces..trims for vents, door handles, and so forth...2 tone leathe rin the car...black and grey and...2 tone everything (well i want it like that)...junkyard is most reliable...OH YEAH and 1 more thing...you can also find a replacement hinge..or find a different way to hinge it..to make it more nicer and interesting..but this method is only for more experienced moders.

hey guys, yeah i was thinking about going to a junkyard and just picking another one up, but its practically impossible to get at the hinges.. unless you take apart the glove box door, or maybe take the dash apart...

CHipotle, i thought about glue/Epoxy also, but i dunno if it would be strong enough

- see if you look at your glove box, the hinge is actually attached to the gb door, and the peg that goes through the hinge is attached to the dash, so its kind of a bigger problem, i wish Nissan made the hinges out of metal, i hate plastic. oh well i'll take a stab at it and ill tell everyone how it goes.. thanks

just stabing at this idea i havent looked at how its connected but if its only one side couldnt you put a chain or some bailing wire cut to the right size and bolt it onto the inside wheere the hing hooks up and on the door?

If there is real estate, you can try and put nother hinge on it, just grab one or 2 from Home Depot and see if it will work. Worst case just get an extra one on ebay like I did.
