It is very difficult to do without damage. Get an FSM. Aside from the screws you mentioned, it is all done from the outside. Not easy without damaging the trim (or the car's B pillar).

there's a tape you can buy to tape over the chrome and make it black.

Use punctutation bro, your comments are hard to read!

I just did a removal and replacement on all the rear window trim pieces on my SE. The horseshoe piece is by far the hardest to deal with. The others are easy, just be careful not to scratch your car like Ptatohed said.(top rear window trim piece has a screw) Good luck.

And yes, the chrome sucks big time, so ditch it!!

yea... well i have a gxe also and slowly trying to save money to do an SE conversion. I went to the body shop recently when i had gotten my spoiler painted. he said u can't realli paint over chrome... sanded or not eventually the paint will just come off. Just go to a body shop and ask for it. they should be able to order the trim. im assuming it shouldn't cost too much.

I plan on doing the same, I have a GLE... would it just be easier to tape the area around the trim and just spray paint it that way? And if I'm going to paint it, what spray paint is reccomended?

ya thats why i wanna do it ihave 5% tint and it shows way to much. I saw the write up from pillager on the 2000 just thought if it was easy to take it of i would just rather paint it as appose to taping it and just to clarify what is FSM as PTATOHED stated. Is it easier to attempt this or just go ahead and buy the new trim whats a good way to paint it

i feel like taping it off wouldnt be a permanent enough solution. i dont trust taping things (as i recently had to zip tie all my wire loom in after i taped it the first time). if anyone has info on painting it please post. i just did my rear window seals and they look great so im def willing to paint given the right info.

FSM=Factory Service Manual=$140 from Nissan, or $60 from Ebay

In my opinion, tape and paint are only temporary solutions...they're going to peal, chip easy....not too long down the road. Then you'll have to do it again.
Just save your money and buy the SE pieces. Every pay check you could buy the necessary pieces for one window if you're really strapped for cash. DO THE JOB RIGHT.
