Tint? Ya or Na .......
I'm tossing the idea around, just a simple 35% all around.
I think it would look great against the Sterling Mist color of my car.
What do you guys think?

A nice modest tint would give a good compliment to the car. Especially you have a lot of Black on the car.If you can try a quick Photoshop on the windows should help give a idea of how the tint could look.

I'm planning on retinting mine to 35% or maybe even 50% all around. 15% in back is just wayy too dark for me.
apparently its a huge hassle to remove the tint on the rear window due to the defroster, the tint places i've talked to say they would remove the tint for free if not for the rear window and charge me 40 bucks for the removal.
im going to go for 20 percent even though 35 percent is legal limit in the front. i dont want to 2 or 3 tone it...i might go darker in the back, who knows.
whats the deal with that mirror tint? that stuff can be LIGHT and still is hard as hell to see in...i was considering it.

I have 29% (registers as 25% via cop meter) Quantum film on the sides, and 19% on the rear. I love this film, it doesnt look as dark as it is, so its easier to get away with it. Not to mention, it gives it a sleek lighter color compared the usual black, but its nothing flashy like that sh!tty chrome tint. Look at my sig, the black maxima to my right has 50% regular film and has a black interior. Mine is tan.
I honestly cant go back to no tint, it makes driving so much better. Also keeps theives from looking in to see what to steal. I'd go for it.
Do it, you won't regret it. 35% is a nice safe tint if the police are tough on it in your area. I put 20% on my black Max last summer and it is beautiful! I haven't been given any sort of hassle so far.
Dang ya'll prob hate my tint...I have 50 front/35 rear/ 15 back glass. I would actually say go with a platinum tint instead of black on your color car, it'll probably blend better. And from what I'm told platinum tint actually blocks sun rays better
but whatever you do it'll work

I did 35% llumar high performance black all around (twice as thick as regular and has very slightly reflecting mirror in it). $180. I am happy with it but will be happier with 20% all around as per 35% is very light at day time. If had the money will redo it 20% all around, but at the same time cops harrase you for tint around here. Wanted to remove/replace back window for 20% to make the interior look darker and protect speakers and leather but tint guy told me was impossible and will damage rear defroster plus may charge me about $80 or more.
Now I am thinking of tinting my windshield but afraid of tickets.
Do not go any lower that 20%; very dangerous, specially at night; can't even see mirrors to pass or turn or back up.

achebee4you: They just changed this setup so you can create new posts after you have a total of 15 posts. Looks like you have about six to go. Just find some things to reply to and you'll be fine.
Tints: I will boldly go where nobody has gone yet in this topic: don't get tinted. I appear to be part of a shrinking minority of people who cannot stand tinted windows. I think they compromise safety, and harm the appearance of your car. If your car does not have tinted windows, drivers behind you can see through your car to the car ahead, allowing better, safer reactions to abnormal driving situations and sudden stops. Tinted windows (and high profile vehicles) completely eliminate this buffer of safety. Additionally, your eyes adjust to the lack of tint on the windshield, so looking out behind and to the sides takes longer for your eyes to adjust; time that you do not have at your disposal when driving. In short, you cannot see out as well. Obviously, you cannot see in as well, either. Why would you ever want that? "Privacy," the masses will shout in unison. Friends, what do you do in your car that is so private? Besides, I want people to see that it is I driving this fine machine, even on the cold days when my windows are closed.
