i wold def do the retrofit, u can get a plug and play kit but if the bulbs breaks ur sh*t out of luck trying to get another one that will match the other side, just check out hidplanet.com, if ur on a budget do it right get a flicker and proper light output and color by using a real hid projector and doing a retrofit. i spent about 300 and got a6 boxenon projectors 2-4100 d2s bulbs and philips ballast and ignitors, plus this way u won't blind people with the glare from a plug and play kit, and since this is a 6000 plug and play kit its light output sucks all u get is color, by using 4100 bulbs with a real hid projector u can do a bent shield and get this purple blue flicker color while ur driving down the street and have the best light output since its the 4100k bulbs, anyways jsut my 2 cents

ya man but i use to be a newbie to hid and i wasted a lot of money on plug and play kits, im serious if ur serious about doing hid check out hidplanet.com, they are really helpful and a lot of people have good deal, im sure you've seen how an audi a6 or a honda s2000 looks at night while drivign its sick, and i've got my setup so it has more color and has a lot of light output, just check out hidplanet.com and post about being new and ur questions about this plug and play kit from ebay
