Loud squeal, replaced belts, now bad as ever... suggestions?

I had a short squeal on startup starting a couple months ago, so I brought it to a shop and they replaced both belts. Well the problem wasn't any better since they supposedly fixed it, and the guy that worked on it said the squeal wasn't coming from the belts (though I think the guy at the shop is full of sh*t, it sounds exactly like belt squeal).

Now, there's a squeal on startup and about half the time it'll squeal REALLY loud during driving, getting more intense as the rpms rise... This occurs for about the first minute of driving, then it's all quiet.

Any suggestions as to what this might be? Do the belts just need tightening???

The squeal is really getting to me on account of it's loud as hell, please help me out!

Your belts are just loose.

Tighten them.

They are either loose or they didn't place the notch in place when they put the pulley back.I had that problem.Changed the belt and just screwed the pulley back on.Squeeled real bad and took it apart and found that ther was a notch on the pulley. So check that.
