the car doesn't want to turn over. It just sits there trying to start, and I have to give it gas to get started. I replaced the starter, because it wen bad and I was hoping that it would take care of this problem as well. No luck.

Dirty fuel filter?

Thoughts?

Do you know if the cold start program uses either the cam angle or crank angle sensor? Or if when hot, what does the ecu use to start the car?

engine coolant temperature sensor-check that.

Replaced the battery also. Sorry, forgot that part.

Ok, I'll check that. Anything else it might be?

I've narrowed down to three things relating to:
1) Fuel
2) Spark
3) Air

I had the same issue where my car was running 1 or 2 hours prior in warm weather and wouldn't start. It would crank but it wouldn't turn over. If I let the car sit for a hour longer it would start perfectly fine. I replaced the fuel filter with no luck, but it turns out it was the camshaft position sensor.

It could be a camshaft sensor, most likely POS acting up.

Definately check the engine coolant temp sensor first.

No, once it is started it is fine. Until I turn it off again, then I go through the same process again. It's pretty embarassing.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll look into the sensors.
