i'm in the same boat as you. i want to revive my tired looking dash, for my tan interior with a brushed aluminum kit, but people always bash the idea and say wood looks so much better. but i don't want wood. or carbon fiber. i but a brushed gauge bezel in and it looked really good, i thought. it just needed more of the like, hence a dash kit. i'm planning on getting one soon.

i personally think aluminum looks bad on leather but do what you want as its ur car

wood makes it look very classy with the tan and offsets it nicely

I agree 100%, I saw a very sweet tan woodie interior that was like the new lexus, sorta yellowish/golden wood pattern to it.

I got some interior pics at the domain, my sigs the link, Page 2 is the interior. The woodie I got is oxford burlwood

Full Wood trim w/ Chrome gauge rings = Infinity feel

don't do tan and aluminum, not enough contrast.

unless you can find a very quality wood dash kit which doesnt look plastic I think the stock black looks the best w/ that tan.

If you are going for a more sporty look, carbon fiber looks the best on tan interiors. If you're going for a more luxurious look, then get the wood.

agreed. wood gives your max the luxury feel whereas carbon fiber or aluminum would be the more sporty route. it comes down to how you think of your car.

personally though if you decide the sporty route id go with the aluminum over carbon fiber. i think the rice line would be crossed if you get the carbon fiber, i mean are you trying to save weight or what?

the only way i would go with a carbon fiber dash was if i had a cf hood and trunk and i was keeping with the theme

also if you want to see what a nice wood dash on tan looks like go to manual maxima's home page. he has the nicest wood interior ive seen on a max- even got his shift **** to match up

wood trim = too classy for me... if I was slappin chromies and a slight drop and no bolt on goodies... than fine but this is not the case... i just dont see it... i saw the aluminum on the tan from that site... dont really like it... may just stay stock then or convert the to black interior... now evergreen w/ black interior!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tan interior w/ aluminum rings. I have a silver sony xplod radio, silver B&M short shifter **** so it looks nice. Also, i have brown leather shift/ebrake boots w/ beige stitching that matches the interior perfectly and looks great.. We sell them by the way!!! Im looking to do the red dash gauges since my radio illuminates red as well.. I get compliments and think it looks quite beautiful. I have a digital camera and will take pics hopefully tomorrow so everyone can see..

Here's some pics of the aluminum dash kit in my 3rd gen w/ tan interior... doesn't look too hot, IMO..

http://mattblehm.com/pics/old_max/car/dash_kit/

half the pics went to black and white because my scanner was a POS back then... they were from back in the day where we still used film and scanned it in. ugh!

The earlier picture someone posted was actually one of our chrome kits in a 4th gen. Here's a brushed kit in a 5th gen tan interior.
