Couple of pix to share

Here are some pix of the red/clears I installed yesterday and also of the carbon fiber mirror shells I put on this Sunday. I know the flames will shoot once you see the badging on my rear end. I did it initially as a little joke, but it is coming off this summer along with all badging possibly.

lol...I actually liked the GT-R badge when I put it on, but I'm not too sure now. Funniest thing is some young guy stopped by one day when I was detailing the car and he was asking all about the Maxima. He actually called his buddy and told him he should come over and check this ride out. Then he asked what trim it was because he told his friend he thought it was the GT-R...lmfao. I told him it was only a fakie stolen from the Skyline and he said, "man, it looks like it should be there, I had no idea." This happened a few other times with young guys thinking I had something special under my hood...lol. Cracks me up still.

I like them a lot. I also like that they are real CF as you said. They were a little bit of a pain to install and the fitment isn't perfect, but from the angle I shot them they look pretty good on my black car. If I ever take them off I'll no doubt need to paint the covers, but I think they will stay.

Thank you, gents. The car is pretty dirty, but thx for saying it looks clean. The shine is provided by Maguiar's NXT applied in the early fall. I love that stuff!

And that's why I'm getting my car repainted.

I actually have one on my grill too. I removed the hamburger from the center and stuck the old GT-R in its place. Looks different, but definitely a little rice to it. I still like it looking different than all others in a small way.

Looking good.

I've actually seen someone with a GT-R emblem on a Honda . At least your badge is from the same company. But do take it off .

Not wild about the collection of badges on the trunk, but that is one clean ride. The CF mirrors are a nice touch.

Thx fr33way. Yeah, I think it's time to unclutter the trunk and debadge. Once the pinstripe and badges come off it will be a lot more civilized. I may just keep the Maxima badge on the rear. That way the young Honda drivers fully understand who smoked them provided they can read.

Car looks really clean.
The CF mirrors are kind of different, but I do not like the badge.

What did you use for the clear? Or did you buy them...

They look really bright (then again the insides look brighter then normal too) so maybe it was just really light outside when you took the pics

Where did you get the CF mirror shields? One of mine is cracked 1/2 of the way down; last summer I was working on my car (in the street, thanks to no driveway in the cramped 100-year old town I live in) which only has enough room for two cars to fit side by side. So, if a car is parked, then when two cars need to pass one another one must yield, right? Apparently this old broad in a cadillac didn't feel that way, and tried to fit in against a car coming in the opposite direction and hit my mirror, and almost me when I heard the noise and popped my head out from the front of the car...

And she took off!

Those would hide it nicely...

The tails were bought early this week from Custom Maxima for $95 shipped. So I didn't have the labor of love taking the originals apart...lol. The mirror covers I actually bought from a fellow orger named Tony Chang. He had a set from Paradox and wasn't going to use them, so he sold them to me. I too had to cover a crack in my driver side mirror. My wife backed my car out a bit carelessly and when the mirror hyperextended it punched a hole in the housing. The CF was a fairly cheap way to solve the problem rather than replace the mirror and then have to get it repainted. I hope you can find a set, it really looks pretty nice, especially on a black Max.

I want to take the pinstripe off of mine badly but I'm concerned about the discoloration. The pinstripe doesn't match anything on the car, the interior is black and the pinstripe is gold !

I actually like the badging. I was actually going to do this a few years back, but then decided not to. I think it looks kind of plain without it, but that's just me.

I appreciate the comments both ways guys. I liked the GT-R thing when I first got the car and put them on. But I've outgrown it now and will be shaving them off possibly with the Hamburger.
