I have gotten 2 tint tickets in NJ in the past 2 months. $54...wonderin if anyone else has problems

 

any tint on the front windows is illegal in CA, i have 35% all around and no tickets yet. on a related note, front plate is required in CA, 15k miles without it and no trouble yet. i think cops are too busy busting ricers and crap down here, but that works for me.

 

i have 5% for about 8-9 months now ... not 1 ticket (knock on wood)

 

i had 20% all around on my old car and i never got pulled over for it. i got tickets for it, but i would get pulled over for speeding and he would let me off with a ticket for my tints. happened 3 times so as soon as i get the chance i'm gonna tint the max too.

 

are they 54 bucks a piece or is that total just curious as im in jersey too

 

va is supposedly 50% for front 35% for rear, but I have 35% all around and have never had any problems with cops, inspections, etc. I used to live in NC and down there 35% is legal for front windows.

35% on both mine and my girlfriend's cars, and neither of us has been hassled for it at all.

I got a $54 ticket last week in NJ. Pulled the tint off my front windows on Sat. I think the cop was pissed becuase he could'nt see my seatbelt.

 

I am in MA, 25% all around are legal here and that’s what I have, but some simple yet affective advise for you guys with problems, if I cop pulls you over day or night turn your dome and mirror consol light ON, and act like you just need to look in you glove box, this will make the tint seem lower.

I know it’s simple and stupid but trust me this will help @ least one person.

i got 35% tint which is legal in every state. we had 190E and we had 5% tint on it and got pulled over three times but no tickets. that was about 4 years ago.

 

Not true, MN legal limit is 50%

 

california law ..is as dark as you want in back..limo if necessary...and front = no tint..unless you have a skin problem..or something like that.

All tint is illegal where I live in RI. I have 35% all around (except for front windshield) When I put a system in my car I'm going to get 20% for the four passenger/driver windows. Never gotten a ticket or pulled over.

 

The law is 70% in pa but cops dont care here unless they want to start trouble.

 

Got pulled over for speeding in Christmas day. Cop was pissed so he gave me a ticket for tinted windows while he was at it.

 

i got 20% all around, and dont even have a front license plate and was never pulled over by a cop. My tints are lumar so they arent that dark when the sun is out, but at night its completely dark. I was pulled over by a bike cop once and he didnt say anything about the tints(had the music on to loud).

 

Is there a way to find out how much % you got? I bought mines with the windows already tinted. They are kinda dark for my tastes, but they look cool.

 

I've gotten no tickets since removing the front tints. Illegal in front NJ.

 

the cop will tell you how dark they are after he pulls you over. they have a light meter that clips to the window

 

i live in iowa and i have 5% all around, i have one ticket for it but it was because he let me off of speeding, i have had the tint for about 4 months... btw its 35$ here

 

How hard is it to go to an eye doctor and fake a sunlight related eye problem so they write you a note for any % tint you want? The law here is 50% and i REALLY don't think thats dark enough, and i cant take the chance of getting a ticket. Has anyone dont this before?

 

my max ain't tinted so it gets hot as hell in Texas...i wouldn't doubt my car gets up to 140F in the summer. here in houston cops don't seem to care either way

I was pulled over by a Warwick cop a couple years back... He asked me where I got it tinted and I played dumb and said it was a Mass car that came that way... he let me go (Big deal in Warwick, they are Tough)
I was nailed by a statie a year later tho... In RI you dont get a ticket or a fine... you get a Five Day. As in five days to get your car reinspected, it wont pass with tint, unless ofcourse, you know somebody, which is the golden rule in Shady Rhode Island. I havent tinted the Max yet, Ive spent to much this month... gotta wait a bit.

You need a front plate in RI and its been my experience that if you wanna get pulled over in a hurry take off ur front plate. Ive been in 4 or 5 cars that were pulled over cuz of no front plate. Its really weird... Such a little thing and you would think itd be hard o notice... It happend to me today. All I have is a back plate on cuz my car isnt registered yet... he let me go.

 

got pulled over for speeding (20 over is what the cop claims) and the ***got cop got me for tints too. 5% on everything but the windshield- law is 43% on the fronts. i went to talk to the judge and told him i promised to get it taken off. so he dismissed the $50 "fix-it ticket" but im not gettin rid of it. my car looks too good and it helps so much when it gets hot.
had tint since oct or sept, so it's been a while

thet link that has the state laws- what does as1 mean? its for the windshield tints
