OMG is ALL I HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG is ALL I HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY JEBUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Friday i was in the mood to do some modding and fixing of the max. So me and a friend (Panda 1) decided to do the JBweld to my Intake manifold. TODAY i installed the intake manifold back on after the JBWELD dried up for 14 hours. I went out for a test drive and all i can say is WOWOOWOWOWOW!!!!! When that Intake Manifold opens up there is no coming back. This car MOVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Within the next few weeks I should be slapping on a few more mods and taking this thing to the track. With the mods i have coming up i expect to run a mid 14. Anyone who thinks there intake manifold has problems should just open in up to see whats going on with it. My 2 cents.

Enjoy the new found power... but contentment won't last long

yo i think imma fix the VIAS some time this week on my 2k max that has like ~60k miles on it (im guessin i need the fix, but as far as i can tell, the only way to check is by completing half the fix anyways.) ive read like 50 posts on it, and it dont really look too hard...but i definately dont understand what causes the cup to turn (ie the valve to open) in the first place? is it like somehow connected to the throttle so that the valve opens as the throttle is pulled? or is it like some type of spiral so that as more air passes, it causes the spiral to turn up to 90 degrees, opening up the valves? because as of now, i have no idea wtf that random spring i see in all the pics is for....ill prolly understand when i do the fix itself, but i always like to completely understand the problem or what im doin before i do it.
and also, how long/how easy in practice is it to fix? ive heard anywhere from an easy 20 min fix (plus drying time) to a hard laborious couple hours. also, any tips or additional pics would be greatly appreciated yo....and btw ill take pics n junk detailin what i do when i actually do the fix to make it easier fo anyone who hasnt done it. anyways thanks in advance yo

is how in the world is the JB-weld not going to seep between the Cup and the Rod and Weld the whole fing thing together???I guess I'll know in 2 Weeks
i started it but i cant get that little hidden screw. i couldnt figure out how to loosen the throttle body to make a bit more room to get to it either. to complicate things i also have a strut bar. how did you guys end up gettin that little screw? oh and wheres the "fourth screw"
I did this yesterday. The 'hidden' screw is near the throttle linkage. It isn't really hidden, but you have to rotate the throttle linkage to get at it. The screws really are difficult to turn for whatever reason... just apply direct pressure onto the screw and turn slow with a large regular head screwdriver.
I let the JB Weld dry overnight... a slightly noticeable difference today. But then again, I still had my cup attached (loose and shaky, but attached). So maybe mine wasn't performing that bad under par...

BTW the screws that u remove on the VIAS are the S H I T T I E S T screws KNOWN TO MAN ur best bet is going to autozone or discount and getting some replacement screws that can acuatually last. Those screw that come stock strip in 1 turn.
word...but how do you rotate the throttle body...i saw a nut that i tried to turn with a #10 wrench on top but my strut bar was in the way and i didnt wanna loosen it if it was the wrong nut. so how do you rotate the throttle body?

Im sure mine needs fixed, I have a 2001 gle with 80,00 miles SO SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, tell me if I got this right IF YOUR VIAS IS BROKEN, Once you take the VIAS box off, the cup will be broken off, so you put jb weld under the cup to put it back in place and then put jb weld into the cup and just put the spring into the jbweld in the cup, let it dry and put it back together, simple as that? I am not anywhere close to a mechanic but sounds like like the average person could do that I want to try it tomorrow so if anyone knows please tell me thanks
k thanks yo imma try that prolly tomorrow or wed.....ill try to take lots of pics and do a complete write up fo everyone else if i do it right....btw any pics from ppl who have already done it before would be greatly appreciated yo!

are these the nuts youre talkin about???
Step 1:
Remove the Stock Intake
Step 2:
The 3 nuts that you circled the Upper right one (the nut closet to the end of the picture) doesnt needa be removed. Just loosen it. There should be 3 other nuts on the throttle botty. U have 2 out of the 3 others circled there is one located on the side of the stock intake piping. REMOVE THOSE 3 but loosen the one i told u to loosen so u have enuff room to rotate the throttle body and keep the gasket behind it in place.
Also u will most probably have to remove those to vacuum lines that are connected to the Fuel rails DONT FORGET WHICH ONE IS WHICH.

Wait, So you don't have to remove the Bolts on the TB?????????????????
