Are there any ratchet shifters out there for our automatics?

yeah, like the title says........

Thanks in advance for any info...

P.S. I am aware of the universal ones, but B&M makes one custom for Camaro's
so i though I ask the experts here about one for the MAX.

oh well

I may do a custom job of it..Anyone else out there wish they had a ratchet shifter?

Ratchet shifters operate like your normal auto shifter except that if you have it in first, you can slam the shifter ahead as hard as you want and it will only shift up one gear. They're great for drag racing.

The V8 guys with megahorsepower engines tend to use automatics with modified valve bodies. The horsepower loss due to an automatic is insignificant compared to how much faster a modified auto can shift (not to mention, no missing a gear, just slam the lever ahead) A properly modified auto can shift gears almost instantaneously, and since a drag race is a race against time, less time with the engine disengaged from the transmission is more acceleration time.

Our low horsepower engines really never see this benefit.
