1990 se 5spd

Hey guys I found this se a few weeks ago and I'm still not sure about it. It has a
-rebuilt engine, tranny, clutch(basically an engine swap) with roughly 30,000 miles on the new engine and 118,000 including before the rebuild.
-clean looking original silver paint job with a few pebble sized dings.
-rims
-new headlight bulbs
-dashboard with a crack near ash tray area
-working sunroof and tinted
-new speakers
He also has nos which makes me wonder why he rebuilt the engine?
Alltogether he wants $3200 or $3000 without the nos. Is it really worth $3000? If not what price should I offer? Any advice is welcome.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay more than $2000. And that's if he can come up with documentation on when/how the drivetrain was replaced. I don't trust used NOS cars unless I know the owner. My $.02.

3 grand is a bit much for a 15 year old car, even with a rebuilt engine. I don't know if I'd touch a used car with NOS at all, just for the very real chance of engine damage or inept NOS hook up.

I would never buy a car that had nos especially if it still has stock internals

haha thanks guys. I was going to take it to my mechanic and have him check it out. I have no clue about nos hook ups but it looked kinda unorthodox. I wouldnt mind buying for a long term thing though. doing a rebuild myself and all, but I think that I'm going to stay away from it unless it turns out to be in immaculate condition under the hood.
