Whining sound in warmer temps
Whining sound in warmer temps
Hey i have a 99 auto maxima, 80k miles. When its warmer outside, like 70-75+ degrees i hear a whining or high pitch noise coming from the drivers side front wheel area. I can only hear it when im driving about 1-25 MPH, it seems to get higher pitch as my speed increases. After approx 25+MPH it gets soo high pitched that i cannot hear it. It does not change tones or stop when i apply the brakes, or turn the wheel. It seems to happen in gears 1 & 2, althought i cant test the rest of the gears.
My first though is, that it is the transmission and maybe installing a trans cooler since it only seems to happen in the warmer temps.
I had my mechanic do a trans flush @60k ish and had him put in mobil1, which i had to purchase myself. I have recently checked the trans fluid and it looks almost too full if anything definatly not low on fluid.
Anyone else experience something like this? Any help appreciated.
