The condition of your Cattman Products?

What condition are your Cattman Products in? Please post how long you've had them, how many miles you've had them for, where you're located (weather conditions), if there is any rust, if they're falling apart. I'm looking into the headers, and a friend has a set that are falling apart. Not exactly sure what, sounded like he had some rust or welds come apart on him. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues like this before I bought the headers.

Cattman Cattback
20000 miles
NC - no bad weather issues
looks pretty good to me, no rust so far just really dirty

Cattman Y-pipe
I purchased it second hand and have since put 25,000 miles on it
No rust, hangers feel as solid as when I purchased the pipe.

Actually I looked and I saw that I'm missing the nuts that go to the front exhaust manifold. However, I haven't heard any exhaust leaks at all! Crazy ain't it....

Maybe it's just the set my friend has. It was bugging me when he told me, and I wanted to get comments on them before I drop the money when they're available again.
Thanks guys......anyone else?

Nmexmax, and Fezzik are 2 people I can think of who've had their Cattman headers for a good amount of time, if they don't chime in, you should try to get in touch with em. Doesn't SR20DEN have em too? I remember seeing that on his mod list some time back.

The tips on my Cattman muffler are a bit discolored now after the winter, but nothing that some metal polish wouldn't take care of.

The issue may be that the older Cattman headers were made from mild steel then ceramic coated. I was talking to Mr. Catts the other day and he is currently searching for a manufacturer here in the states. Aside from some tweaking " If I have to find a new builder why not make some improvements.." he said he is also planning on having them made in SS. I am on the bandwagon for these as soon as they are ready. Just so pricey.

I have the prototype Cattman headers on my car, not coated at all and they're holding up excellent.

Cattman y-pipe and full Cattman catback. No issues here. I've had them on the car for almost 3 years and 30k miles now. I have a lot of faith in Cattman's products.

Cattman Catback - 10k miles....I get a weird ticking noise from the b-pipe area....not the resonator but the rear b-pipe area...I dunno what it could be but it doesn't bother me that much....its been doing it since I bought the catback....and it happens with the car ON and OFF....some people suggested that it's a metal cooling off when i turn off my car...i could understand that...but the weird thing is it happens when the car is ON as well...it does this when the car is fully warmed up....its basically a real loud TICK every 5 seconds...this is with the car ON...

other than that....i'm pretty satisfied with my exhaust....another thing to note...i was hoping the muffler tips and muffler would be a little bit more shiny-er like Greddy's.....

I bought my Y-pipe used and it's been on my car for 3 years now, it is still in excellent condition after 4 harsh winter, the flex join might need to be replaced sometime but it's not a big concern.

My headers have about 5 miles on them and they're holding up fine

I don't drive the car in the winter (where's the fun in that?), but even then I am thinking of getting some charcoal/high heat paint to cover most of the exhaust except the muffler. I'll prob get some of that paint on the bottom of the headers too (not the chrome part, the parts that are in contact with the ground).

I'd rather prevent rust than regretting it afterwards. SS headers are def a good idea, and he says they will be barely any more expensive than they are now due to switching production. But even then I don't think I'll have issues with rust.

To be honest, he's the one that says they're falling apart on him.....

That's some helpful info. I'm sure the SS will hold up well in any condition.

I get the same ticking noise after I turn the car off for the following 15 mins or so......My girlfriend's AE doesn't do that, with her Cattman Catback and Warpspeed Y-pipe.

Mine does it to...I think it is just the metal cooling....for me it is more notice able in the winter time than the summer time.......that is why I think it is cooling....11k miles and 7th months....
