A/C off, shifts great! A/C on, shifts late!

Why does my tranny hesitate to downshift when the A/C is running, but has no hesitation when it is off?

I'm referring to situations where I punch the pedal, and not gentle acceleration.

Shouldn't the electronics be compensating for the change?

Or is it a torque converter issue, rather than an ECU or ECT issue?

HELP!

Dunno, I try not to WOT with A/C on, kills my gas. Plus with the extra load it feels crappy...

It doesn;t have to be WOT. Say you are going like 30mph, it will stay in 3rd gear w/ throtle at 75%. With the AC off in same situation, it will downshift to 2nd.

I am going to ask a few Infiniti & Nissan techs to see what they say, as well as a couple of transmission shops.

the reason why i think that is happening is because the A/C draws power from the engine since it is powered by the belt and engine is driving it, so it would cause a little delay...i have also noticed in my last car i had which was an auto and it did the same thing...i could be wrong tho..just my theory
